New Cambodian Artists present
Look at us now

Young and fine artists join forces in this multi media project. They work together with a group of European artists.

“Look at us Now” talks about the struggles of young artists in nowadays Cambodia and combines classical and contemporary dance, music and projections.

The performing artists are: Yon Davy, Khieu Sovannarith, Phumtheara Chenda, Sang Porsda, Va Chamnan, Yim Savann, Phon Sopheap, Kay Sokchan, Vuth Chanmoly

The Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center and Art in a Box are proud to
present an exhibition of cambodian paper dolls and Apsara paper dolls
dressed in traditional Khmei silk and beaded costumes created by the
girls of CWCC. Each unique, one-of-a kind piece is matted and is
suitable for framing. Celebrating Cambodian fashion, the exhibition
reflects the ability of art to heal, transform, empower and delight
the human spirit. Paper dolls and Apsara paper dolls are on sale from
$5 to $10.

All proceeds from the exhibition go directly to the CWCC girls who
created the art.

These Cambodian paper dolls and costume art created by the CWCC girls
are really wonderful! Please pass the invitation along. Everyone is
welcome.

Mohaori is a form of secular court music. Its origin stretches back to the Angkorian Empire, and has long enjoyed a reputation as an intellectual sort of music for high-class entertainment.  Mohaori music delights in complex melodies, poetic lyrics, and delicate sonic textures.  Long played only by women, today mohaori is performed by both genders and by ensembles as many as twelve different instruments.

Master Kong Nay and Kong Boran

Cambodian Living Arts presents Master Kong Nay, known as the “Ray Charles of Cambodia,” and his student and son, Kong Boran at the Chinese House, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Kong Nay is one of the best-known and celebrated Chapei dang veng musician in Cambodia. Chapei music is a traditional form of improvised song-making that is often compared to American Delta Blues.
