CCF & Wat Bothum
Du premier trait crayonné d’Emile Cohl, inventeur du dessin animé, à l’univers fantastique très élaboré d’Enki Bilal en passant par l’inoubliable Paul Grimault, Animénous emportera pour un voyage tantôt poétique tantôt loufoque autour du monde merveilleux de l’animation francophone. Longs métrages pour petits et grands, courts étrages d’un siècle d’animation et bien entendu les inénarrables et incontournables Shadoks… cette semaine consacrée à l’animation sera riche en surprise ! Cet événement sera clôturé par une projection d’une sélection de courts étrages au Wat Bothum.

En une année, la structure est financièrement autonome et offre ses services par delà les frontières cambodgiennes. Regard sur des métiers d’avenir, le graphisme, l’illustration et l’édition.

How do 5 young visual artists become the directors of a studio for graphics, illustration, and publishing in Battambang? In one year, this organization has become autonomous, and offers its services beyond the borders of Cambodia. A look at some occupations of the future: graphics, illustration, and publishing.

Dans le cadre de / in the framework of Animé
L’exposition (Re)génération réalisée en 2007 a démontré le talent des dessinateurs cambodgiens. L’atelier, dirigé par Sera dans le cadre du projet VALEASE, s’est poursuivi avec pour objectif la parution de deux albums édités par Phare Ponleu Selpak. Cette nouvelle exposition présente les dernières planches. Les deux albums seront présentés au public.

The exhibition “(Re)Generation” featured in 2007 demonstrated the talent of Cambodian draftsmen. The workshop, directed by Sera through the project VALEASE, was undertaken with the goal of producing two albums published by Phare Ponleu Selpak. This new exhibition present the latest plates. The two albums will be presented to the public at the time of the exhibition.

Du 20 au 26 > FRANCOPHONIE
Semaine de langue française et de la francophonie Le 20 mars 2010, Journée Internationale de la Francophonie, marquera cette année le lancement des festivités organisées au Cambodge à l’occasion de la Semaine de la langue française et de la francophonie. Les établissements scolaires et universitaires du Cambodge qui possèdent des filières francophones feront cette année encore preuve de leur dynamisme avec l’organisation de manifestations où la bonne humeur, la convivialité et l’échange autour de la langue française seront mis à l’ordre du jour…

The Cambodian festivities organised in the framework of the French language and francophonie annual Week will be launched the 20th of March, the International day of the Francophonie. The educational institutions providing French programmes will once again promote the French language with dynamism in an opened and joyfull atmosphere

Leang Seckon invites you to an evening with him at Cafe Living Room
before he leaves for his solo exhibition, ‘Heavy Skirt’, at Rossi and
Rossi Gallery in London. The exhibition features ten large paintings,
ten collages and an installation (all of which are now in London).

Seckon’s new work is about Cambodia in the seventies. His memories and
stories of that time, are woven with fabric, paint, thread, and papers
from travels around and from here, to tell a story which is at once
intensely personal, and the story of all of us. It is both a local and a
global story. We all know something of them, but nobody knows these
stories like he does, of his life and experiences growing up. Lately he
talks of vomiting something out of him to his work. Something poisonous
is coming up, needs to be retched and out of him. Until then he is
hurting, but when it is out he finds he has vomited a flower.

So, please, come to share the love with him as he prepares for the first
solo show in Europe. He would love to see you, and he has prepared a
surprise which you do not want to miss.
